The Grey Line Between Thinking and Doing.

Hey, coach Risley here! Are you a chronic perfectionist that overthinks and does not dream to make progress until total mastery is achieved? Or are you the type that runs on total impulse and is an over-worker that works without considering consequences?

Both of these personalities can achieve good results but neither will achieve great results long term. Know why? Because both are extreme and have flaws that only the other can make up.
The chronic perfectionist needs to learn how to be a human more and understand that it’s OK to make mistakes and push the gears sometimes. We aren’t machines nor should we act like them, Focusing on technique is great but it’s also great to get a little gritty sometimes and push our limits.
The worker or should I say the over-worker needs to relax a little and take a step back to think, training can be barbaric and primal at times but in many ways, it’s also scientific and strategized. So developing the mentality that you will work your ass off is great only if you can manage it according to you as an individual.
Looks like Homer's experiencing the unfortunate consequences of trying to rep out his 1 rep max for 15 reps on deadlifts.
So the saying don’t train harder but smarter is great but also isn’t necessarily true.
The truth is you need to see the gray line between the two and do both to find your best strategy for growth.
That’s all for this week's topic, let me know if this has helped you rethink the way you personally train and go out there and make the most of your physical and personal growth in training, I’ll see you guys next week!
